On February 18th, Massimo Tyres, along with their partner Jet Wheel Tyre, sponsored the Vanarama National League match between Southend United and Gateshead.
Among the nearly 7,000 fans in attendance were staff and friends of Massimo, Jet Wheel Tyre, who were cheering on the home team, and Tyre Spot, another partner of Massimo tyres who have strong links to Gateshead FC.
It was Southend United that won the entertaining game courtesy of an early goal by 17-year-old Henry Sandat. The youngster only starting for the shrimpers because of an injury in the warm-up to Harry Cardwell. The one-nil defeat leaving the 38 Gateshead fans who had made the trip with a miserable five-hour journey north.
Jet Wheel Tyre celebrated the win with Massimo staff and consoled the Tyre Spot delegation. The hospitality team made sure that everybody was well looked after – there was even time to go pitch-side and meet some of the club’s stars.
This was the first event of its type that Massimo Tyres has co-sponsored in the UK, but it definitely won’t be the last.
