Massimo Tyre is set to become the official tyre sponsor of a hugely popular racing tournament. Starting in 2024, approximately 40 drivers will compete up and down the country for the ‘Massimo Tyre MX5 Cup by 5 Club’. The decision to switch to the popular tyres coming after record-breaking results in testing.
It is an exciting development for the brand that has gone from strength to strength since landing in Britain in 2019. In that time, the brand has found popularity for its huge range and exceptional performance. A spokesperson for Massimo said, “We are honoured to be chosen as the official tyre sponsor for 5Club Racing’s MX-5 Cup. This partnership signifies the trust placed in the performance and reliability of Massimo Tyres. It is an exciting prospect to have the capabilities of our Ottima Plus tyre showcased by these dedicated and talented drivers and we wish them all the best of luck for what promises to be an exhilarating race season.”
Those drivers, and their cars will need to meet strict eligibility guidelines to compete. The cup is exclusive to Mazda MX-5 Mk1 models that were in production between 1989 and 1997. The cars are modified to meet mandatory Motorsport UK safety requirements such as a 6-point roll cage.

Testing has shown the Massimo to be the closest performing tyre to the outgoing Avon on a remarkably clubman friendly budget, Massimo are proving to be a great partner for us in promoting our sport and we are looking forward to working with them to help establish the Massimo brand on track ”
